On July 8, 2009, cardio-thoracic surgeon Dr. Lyle Joyce performed open heart surgery on Dave at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.

Before that surgery, Dave heard powerful words like "calcified aortic valve" and "heart failure" that threatened to put his life on hold.

While preparing for surgery and in recovery, Dave heard other more powerful words which gave him hope and the ability to laugh amid the crisis.

About the Author


For over 30 years, Dave Aeilts (pronounced aisles, like in a church or theater) has taught businesses large and small how to communicate with their customers through the written word.

In 2003, Dave began working through his church with the Maya people of Central America. In May 2006 he led a video team to southern Mexico where they documented how certain words translated into the Chamula-Tzotzil dialect had transformed this poor, wretched and disenfranchised minority into a powerful spiritual and economic force for good.

In September 2008, Dave traveled again to southern Mexico to interview eyewitnesses to this amazing transformation. The result was an adult non-fiction novel published by STEM Press™.
